St Mary Star of the Sea College is a Catholic College founded on the Good Samaritan Benedictine tradition, aspiring to live the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.

    St Mary's Orchestra

    St Mary’s Orchestra tour to New Zealand was a huge success. The College all girls orchestra spent a week in Rotorua performing at public concerts and at a number of primary schools. Students attended master classes and were able to share their love of music with 900 students from all over Australia and New Zealand.

    College Sports

    St Mary’s had an extensive sports program, which gives girls the opportunity to participate and enjoy sport at a level which suits them.

    Sport is an important part of college life. It promotes a healthy life style, builds team spirit and develops friendships.

    Music

    Music in Schools contributes to the emotional, physical, social and cognitive growth of all students. It develops students’ awarenes of cultural heritage and values and plays an important part in cultivating creativity, spirituality, identity, self expression and personal satisfaction.

    The Innovative Music Program at St Mary’s will:

    • Provide students with a range of opportunities to enjoy and learn about music
    • Improve support for instrumental music, vocal music and music technology
    • Create partnerships and networking with music organizations, musicians, the music industry and our community.

    The Advantages of the new Music Program:

    • Specialist instrumental teacher will come to the College
    • Use of brand new music practice rooms
    • Lessons scheduled before, during and after school time
    • Students will not have to make an extra effort to travel to and from lessons
    • Competitive rates $56 per hour ( or $28 per half hour)
    • Payment plans can be tailored to accomodate individual financial circumstances.
