‘Creature Comforts’ is the name of a fascinating exhibition currently being held at the Orange Regional Gallery.  A retrospective, created over 40 years by the extremely talented sculptor and poet, Mr Philip Hammial, the exhibition contains a record 230 pieces, of which 60 have already been sold.

The showing has proven to be incredibly popular due to its unique style and rave reviews creating wide ranging audience appeal, bringing in large numbers of people including school groups.

Mr Hammial’s clever creations have been produced as a result of decades of searching through recycle yards and junk shops and second hand outlets.

In a near tragic turn of events, Mr Hammial suffered a heart attack and spent eight days in Orange Base Hospital at the same time that his exhibition was achieving achieving critical acclaim.  Fortunately the 72 year old has recovered well and his work will be on display until September 14.  This is a unique event not to be missed!
