Re “Table for 2” (darling wife’s milestone 50th birthday). A romantic dinner occasion, which inscribed itself amongst our most pleasant memories.

Several times since that evening, my wife has made special mention of just how much she enjoyed the evening. And she made sure that every one at the various birthday functions got told about her fabulous Byrne’s Mill evening. Even before the food had come, we felt good about having chosen your Byrne’s Mill restaurant.

Address easy to find, free parking close by, the tastefully flood-lit old building with verandah and garden. Inside the gentle level mood-lighting, all tables with classy candle light, nooks and crannies here and there, clean amenities, the rustic 18 inch brickwork, exposed massive wooden ceiling beams dating back to 1883, nice table cloth and table settings, intriguing spices faintly permeating the atmosphere, arousing one’s appetite, whilst being ushered to be seated.

We appreciated the nook you had allocated for us. And, most importantly, the quality of your food did indeed deserve that your story made the front cover of the local phone book. We equally appreciated meeting you and your good wife in person, complete with congratulatory hug, despite being busy in the kitchen. At one time not a spare table in sight. In addition, your very pleasant, unobtrusive, but very vigilant waitress complimented the whole experience.

Congratulations Basil and Susan, you have contributed to making this birthday a very special one indeed.
