Bathurst is privileged to have one of only 30 free youth health services countrywide.  NSW Central West headspace has been established to provide a free ‘one stop shop’ for young people aged between 12 and 25.  Clinical and support services are provided for general health, mental health, drug and alcohol issues as well as and vocational assistance.

Taking on board input from young people to create a comfortable, funky and ‘youth friendly’ atmoshphere, headspace provides a safe and relaxed environment for youth to come and discuss sometimes difficult issues or concerns with trained professionals such as GPs, psychologists and drug and alcohol counsellors that have expertise in working with young people, in one convenient location.

Funded by the Australian Government to recognise and respond to young people at risk from mental health and substance use issues, headspace is an outstanding facility available not just to Bathurst but also for young people in the Blayney, Cowra and Oberon districts.

To make an appointment at headspace, young people aged 12-25 should call 6338 1100 or call in at 253 George Street Bathurst during business hours.
