Fantastic places to visit- Etty Bay - South of innisfail. Good fishing at Mourilyan harbour, Good fishing off the old bridge at Ninds Creek- catch a Mangrove Jack. Johnstone river crocodile Farm-great for kids. Paronella Park, beautiful romantic place to get married. Josephine falls and the golden hole, named the golden hole because the pioneers use to find gold there. Mamu canopy walk,- walk in the treetops. Affordable and comfortable motels, like the Barrier Reef Motel 3.5 star rated, located just South heading out of town, has a terrific licensed restaurant and cable television and a nice pool. The Riverlodge Tropical Motel, self rated, lcoated just out of town, past the big Townsville turn off on the way to Paronella Park, has a terrific pool, family rooms, comfy rooms air-con, Moondarra Motel 3 star rated, located in town across from Macdonalds and near the public pool, very handy if you have little ones. Then there is the Walkabout Motel, please don't think this is a motel, it is actually a working backpackers hostel ( no longer a motel ) Great eating out at Roscoes Piazza, right across from k-mart, the best tasty Italian buffet food ever. Reef's restaurant at the Barrier Reef Motel. FAmishes cafe is good too in town on the corner of Owen and Edith Street. Yummy noodle is terrific and great value in Rankine Street and the food is fast and tasty. Wy yung chinese restaurant is the best chinese food on the way out of town heading North. The RSL Is terrific food and Chef Grattin is a pretty good chef- great value. Brothers leagues club is a good spot to go out to and is pretty flash for a night out, good food and live music, pokies too. The imperial tavern is right on the Esplande and has a nice laid back feel and great food. Celebrations liquor barn is behind the imperial too. The Riverside Motel is across from the Imperial Tavern, it is a really scenic spot, but unfortuneately got pretty wrecked by Cyclone Larry.

The Goondi hotel has pretty good steaks, so I've been hearing.  There is a terrific little deli in town called Oliveri's deli.  There is really historic older pub on the way into Innisfail turn off to the left it is called the Garradunga Hotel.  This hotel was really damaged in the cyclone and has had a big refurb and I have heard the food is really good, makes for a good night out.  This old hotel is really historic, and is older than the Riverldoge.  I have even heard stories about the Garadunga pub resident ghost, they have accommodation available there too.  The Queens pub has had a big refurb too and they have budget rooms avaialble for $ 65.00 per night, located right in town in RAnkine Street.

Don't forget to visit the historic chinese temple in Rankine Street, make a wish worked for me.  Then there is the town walk, encasing the art deco architecture of Innisfail.  Innisfail is actually the Art Deco Capital of Australia.
