For the last 8 years i have been a dance teacher at Stepping Out Dance Factory. In 2009 i completed my Cert 4 in Dance teaching and management through Australian Dance Vision. I teach Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical and Tap. I teach up to 16 classes a week at the Dubbo Studio and 9 at the Forbes Studio. Class sizes range from 4 to 30 students catering for 2 and a half years of age to Adult. During classes my responsibility is to teach students dance skills in a fun and nurturing environment that caters for their individual needs.  I must adapt the styles and techniques in order to cater for each child in the class.

As a student at Stepping Out Dance Factory 1998-2008 I was a prolific and featured member of Stepping Out Dance Factory Performance team and achieved notable success at Eisteddfods throughout our region. I was and still am heavily involved with community events, performing and choreographing for parades, launches, the Western Plains Zoo and charity

I was assistant choreographer and Dance Captain of the 2008 Stepping Out Dance Factory tour of the United States. I performed alongside my students at Universal Studios, Disneyland and was a part of the successful Australian team who commenced and ended Disney’s Main Street parade. I danced before a crowd of thousands. Whilst in the States, I also took classes at “The Edge” in Los Angeles and Workshop Programs with Disneyland’s Performing Arts Staff.

Under my direction and through use of my choreography I have had individual and group success at Eisteddfods across the region.

As a Dance teacher for the Active afterschool care group, I teach video link up lessons to students of Bourke/Walgett school of distance education. I teach the students a number of different exercises ranging from routines in hip hop and jazz to specialised dance technique. This ensures students are having fun, learning a dance and about dance and staying healthy at the same time. Due to the success of these dance lessons I was approached to take on more classes for other schools where students do not have access to a dance teacher.

In 2008 I was involved in the establishment of Dance Nation Fitness. Dance Nation Fitness creates dance DVDs that focus on fitness and weight loss. I am responsible for co-choreographing all dance aspects in all four DVDs. Under direction from my director I have stared confidently as the lead instructor in all four DVDs. Along with choreography I have also run demonstration sessions at fitness expos around the country. These involve organising other staff members and teaching them the choreography needed for the shows. In leading the demonstration sessions I am highly energetic and enthusiastic. I am able to motivate my team and encourage them in a way that ensures our demonstrations as always highly energetic and effective. Currently I am involved with choreography for a Primary school age appropriate Dance Nation fitness DVD. This DVD will be made for Primary School teachers to use as part of their daily fitness regime

Volume ONE  – Hip Hop Hypnosis –

A DVD workout commencing with a Cardio and Conditioning warm up to tone and strengthen muscles, followed by some cutting edge Hip Hop choreography and a routine.  It incorporates the use of body mechanics, musicality and distinctive techniques that engage the core and involve a  whole body workout.

Volume Two – Hip Hop Street Heat

Volume 2 was created as a progression from Hip Hop Hypnosis, this DVD is more of a challenge with a higher pace, more complex choreography with an emphasis on style development.

Volume Three – Jazz Street Funk

This DVD Incorporates a hyperactive mix of jazz, and street moves, this fantastic cardio workout is guaranteed to improve coordination and fitness. This DVD also works on strength and flexibility.

Volume FOUR -  Stretch and Conditioning Session DVD

This DVD involves Strengthening, toning and improve flexibility, posture and balance within a workout session. Each movement targets the core muscles including the abdominals and lower back.

Zumba in 2010 I decided to do the Zumba coarse and have not looked back. I have been teaching Zumba in Dubbo and have had incredible success. Zumba is a great way to lose weight, get fit and get motivate.

    Zumba History

Celebrity fitness trainer, "Beto" Perez, stumbled upon the concept of Latin-inspired dance-fitness in his native Cali, Colombia in the mid-‘90s.

One day, he walked into his aerobics class and realized he had forgotten his aerobics music. Thinking quickly, he grabbed whatever tapes he had in his backpack. Beto's tapes were comprised of songs he loved, the traditional Latin salsa and merengue music he listened to all his life. But it was a challenge to improvise a whole class on the spot using non-traditional aerobics music. Beto rose to the challenge and from this last-minute improvisation a revolutionary new concept in fitness was born – the Zumba Fitness-Party™! The class soon became the most popular class at his fitness facility.
