The ACT is a leader in the Solar Power industry. Now more than ever is the time to install Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Panels on your home. This is because when you install a Solar Power System that feeds electricity back to the grid, you are paid by your electricity provider 50.05 cents per kWh of electricity that your system produces. This is 3.88 times more money than what you currently pay them for your electricity. Better still, the ACT Feed In Tariff is guaranteed for 20 years which gives you more than enough time to offset the initial cost of your system and then start making a healthy TAX FREE profit. Not only that, a substantial amount of your systems cost is reduced due to the Federal Government initiatives, which credit you with Renewable Energy Certificates and Solar Credits that you can sell like shares (which as of Jan 2011 will have a generous fixed price). Stay tuned for more information on Solar in the ACT and I will do my best to inform you.

I would also like to encourage the use of local Canberra PV Solar installers and recommend that you look to get numerous quotes when deciding on who will install your Solar Energy System. However be sure to find the balance between price and quality by asking lots of question. Generally if the installer gives you the time of day they will also give your installation the same level of attention. One option is to visit the clean energy council website -

Then e-mail the list of Canberra installers for information or quote requests. I can help you with the questions you should be asking the installers as there are many short cuts in the industry that allow for larger corporations to produce cheap systems that may not live up to your expectations.
