I’m going to put myself in the firing line here and go for broke in extolling the Acropole.
The Redhead-In-Residence and I have been citizens of Bathurst for a few days over six years now.
The Acropole was the first place I went to for a good nosh-up. I was impressed then and I still am.
It is slap-dab in the middle of the CBD, therefore well located and suited for the lunchtime crowd
Unfortunately this is the day and age of paying a bigger price for food and service, but! If the service and the food match the price, it is well worth it.
Last time R-I-R and I dined, we came away paying just under $80 for a steak main meal, garlic breads, dessert and coffee and a redders for the Redhead and a Pure Blonde for moi. I expected that.
I have to tell you, the Acropole is no more pricey than others here in Bathurst.
Expensive to me, is where the quality of the goods or service does NOT match the price. the Acropole does not fall into the category of expensive – no way.
Sorry, previous reviewer, I found the service to be spot on, the food, well cooked and plentiful and the waiters. Yes! I will use the word, waiter as I would use the words actor, manager etc. The waiter who looked after us was one half of a twin set (she, or her sister I couln’t tell which) looked after us at another restaurant, now demolished. Every waiter at the Acropole acquitted herself as professional and knowledgeble.
The staff members were pleasant and courteous. The restaurant clean and facilities, er, comfort stations, good.
From the ramblings of the Hungry Al around Bathurst’s eateries, our little ol’ city matches what Sydney has to offer.
I’m giving five stars
