Parkes

Parkes is a town in western NSW.

It is home to the Parkes Radiothermal Telescope which was built in 1961.  It was used as an uplink during the Apollo program, and was made famous by the film, The Dish.

Parkes has a rich variety of farming including wheat and wool.

Parkes is home to a mine to the north of the town which extracts gold and copper.  Parkes is also host to Tyndalls Lavender Farm, which visitors are welcome to stroll around.
