With mild to warm temperatures all year round, Lismore offers diversity. Well known for it's beauty, many out-of-area students are drawn to Lismore and it's Southern Cross University with entry scores steadily rising each year since it's establishment.

Lismore and the surrounding areas host many markets showcasing the local produce and art with the Lismore Farmers market on each Tuesday at the showground. Lismore also hosts the North Coast national show in October each year - one of the biggest agricultural shows in the region with rodeos, ring events and sideshows.
