Situated along the banks of the Moruya River, Moruya is a regional country town mainly involved in agriculture and aquaculture. The name of the town is derived from the Aboriginal for “home of the black swan” - black swans are often seen around the lakes and rivers near Moruya. Tourists can take an historic bus tour through the area, as well as observing the local music industry in events such as the annual jazz festival.

Moruya can be reached by air from the Moruya Airport, or via the Pacific Highway.
