Rob Oakeshott has been the State Member for Parliament for Port Macquarie for the past 12 years.

He recently resigned to run for the Federal seat of Lyne and needs your support to take local issues all the way to the top.

Vote 1 Rob Oakeshott on September 6.

Rob has been doing a fantastic job for Port Macquarie as State member. The proof is in his funding allocation – $345 million this year as compared to the neighbouring seat (held by a National representative) which received only $96 million. Let’s take him to the top!

Monstar – unfortunately your statistics appear to be wrong. On my calculations the allocation to Port macquarie electorate was $339 million and was mainly comprised of works to the Pacific Highway.

Treasurer Costa has expressly ruled out making budget allocations on the basis of electorates. The Treasury says : “Decisions on spending allocations are not determined according to electoral boundaries. Rather, spending decisions on essential government goods and services are based on community needs and government priorities, which will change over time. Factors which determine spending allocations include demand for services, population and economic growth, changing demographics and technology.”

You must remember also that spending on the Pacific Highway upgrade is long over-due and has been deferred year after year.

WE need more honesty and transparency and less “spin” in government.

Unfortunately, your comments seem to encourage and reward the latter – not the former.

For the first time in seventy four years I get a chance to vote in a marginal electorate and as Rob’s state service shows the major parties are always hoping he will retire and they can return to the old ways of ignoring the voters in their safe seat slum.
