About 61% of burns occur at home. If you are burnt by a flame or splashed by hot liquid, run cool water across the area for 20 minutes. It’s important to keep the water running for that length of time. By doing so, you’ll have an 80% reduction in the size of the burn wound. Running cool water over the affected area will also reduce the likelihood of blisters forming.
